FOR TEAMS
You get what you focus on, so focus on what you want
At Teramai Sport Psychology, we have a flexible approach designed to meet your team’s unique needs. Whether it’s a workshop, webinar, or joining team trainings in person to deliver practical exercises, what each format has in common is that they are all highly interactive, practical, group-orientated, and enable open discussions.
"Best sports psychology workshop I’ve been to - very useful and loved the little phrases. Going to remember them when racing."
"I have found that the sport psychology service has been a very comfortable and trustworthy environment where I can learn more about myself and how to be a team player."
Sport Psychologist Helen Ruud brings more than five years of experience equipping teams with tailored mental strategies to enhance performance, foster communication and cohesion, prepare for competition, and manage setbacks/injuries. She has helped numerous high performing teams achieve success, including Northumbria University (men’s basketball, men’s and women’s volleyball, women’s football, and swimming); Gateshead Football Club (won FA trophy 2024); and the Fiji National Outrigger Canoe Team (achieved bronze in the South Pacific Games 2023). Beyond sports teams, she has also worked with teams in a corporate environment who have found the sport psychology framework innovative and effective.
WORKSHOPS
Whether online or in-person, a workshop can be a great way to get the whole team meaningfully engaged with a relevant topic. For example: stress management; decision making under pressure; developing cohesion with new team members; and more.
HANDS-ON COACHING
Teams looking for a bit more support may want to offer their athletes individual coaching complete with training plans and check-ins, along with practical exercises for the full team during trainings.
Teamwork is always carried out in close collaboration with the coach, coaches or other support staff. A workshop or series of workshops can be a great way to open the space for difficult conversations, while hands-on coaching can help ensure that the team implements improvements consistently until they’ve built positive habits and strong culture.
